The Edinburgh Brewing Company was founded by two long standing
individuals in the brewing industry, Russell Sharp and Alastair Mowat.
Sharp is perhaps best known as the founder of Caledonian Brewery in
Edinburgh, rescuing it from certain demise in 1987. Sharp was also involved
in research into whisky maturation that led to the founding of Innis & Gunn
by his son, Dougal. Mowat has spent many years as a highly successful
senior executive at Scottish & Newcastle. The two founded Edinburgh Brewing
with the aim of introducing new and innovative products to the market.
Presently, "Edinburgh Pale Ale" is their single product available only in cask conditioned format. Outlets are listed on the company's website. All beer is brewed under contract at Belhaven Brewery in Dunbar.
Products:
- Edinburgh Pale Ale - 3.4% ABV
-

- Classified by the brewery as "...a new old style beer..." and as an "...1826 Style of Edinburgh Ale", this is a golden cask conditioned ale brewed with barley from East Lothian, natural well water and Styrian Golding hops.
