In 1997, husband and wife Robin and Gay Graham bought the pub in south Glasgow
that now houses Clockwork Beer Company and proceeded to trash the entire
premises and rebuild it. The result was Glasgow's first and only
remaining brewpub. The pub opened in December of
1997 and includes a non-smoking area that is family friendly, offers
regular entertainment and houses the clearly visible brewing equipment
that makes this on-site brewing operation into a brewpub. After a short term
under new owners, Clockwork is now owned by Maclay Inns.
Brewing is performed using a five-barrel plant capable of turning out some 1250 to 1440 pints at a time. In true Scottish tradition, the bar is fitted with Aitken Tall Fonts - over 50 years old - for serving without the use of return trays as they were originally used (and still are in other parts of Scotland).
The continuously rotating line of fruit beers, the Hazy Daze range, are regular favorites and Seriously Ginger is incredibly stimulating to the taste buds! All of the beer brewed at Clockwork is consumed and/or sold on premises. In addition to their own beers, many finely kept guest ales are available. They also boast one of, if not the, largest selections of commercially available selections of German and Belgian beers in Scotland.
Products (descriptions abridged from brewery flier):

- Red Alt Beer - 4.4% ABV
- Described as a "fusion" of American red ale and German Alt beer styles using pale, Vienna, and Bavarian melanoidin malts along with roasted wheat, American hops (assume multiple varieties are used) for bittering/flavor and Liberty for aroma
- Original Lager - 4.8% ABV
- A unfiltered, unpasteurized lager cold fermented and conditioned for a minimum of six weeks. It is brewed using Lager malt and German hops and dispensed with a low level of carbonation

- A line of beers that are rotated and brewed using Clockwork's Lager as a base and adding fresh fruits and spices during secondary fermentation. A popular version is Seriously Ginger
- Monthly Special
- Beers brewed without the use of American hops for customers whose palates don't particularly favor the typically assertive hop flavors/aromas of these varieties
