Scotland's Breweries Today
The
Scottish brewing industry has never been more geographically or
stylistically diverse than it is today. Breweries stretch from Dumfries
and Galloway in the south to as far north as Shetland. They vary in
size from basic five barrel microbreweries and brewpubs to major
producers. The breweries are arranged here by geographical region as
indicated by the map.
If you're planning a visit to Scotland (or, if you live there and haven't had time to become familiar with them), please check out the breweries in the area. Most offer tours either regularly or by request so please phone ahead and let them know you're coming. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see you. If you can't make it to the brewery itself, check them out anyway and see which local outlets supply their beers. You'll be very glad you did!
