Natural Selection Brewing is a collaboration between The International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University and Stewart Brewing. It allows four students to design, market, sell and launch a beer as part of their masters project for their MSc in Brewing and Distilling. The project consists of designing, branding, marketing and selling a beer in Edinburgh and the UK.
For 2012, the project is designing and brewing a beer called Anorak. Anorak is a 4.8% ABV summer wheat beer that is cloudy but lacking the clove or banana notes associated with German Hefeweizen or Belgian Wit. It is brewed with seven different hops and dry-hopped for a pronouned aroma of citrus and hops.
Anorak is set to be launched in Edinburgh at the Stockbridge Tap on the 11th of July and in London on the 16th of July at The Rake. The beer can also be purchased through the Stewart Brewing website store.
