Fyne Ales
Fyne Ales opened during
early 2002 and resides on the farm of owners Johnny and
Tuggy Delap at the head of Loch Fyne in Argyllshire. After market research
yielded positive response in the area, work on the purpose-built
facility began with the aim of brewing real ales of the finest quality. The
first shipment of casks destined for Glasgow had to be delayed due to heavy
rains washing out the main road. A momentary setback, Fyne Ales have
since been well received in Glasgow and throughout Scotland.
The 40-barrel plant was designed and commissioned by consultant Dave Smith. The equipment was originally developed for Highwood Brewery in Lincolnshire and was subsequently modified by H&M Engineering and installed in November, 2001. The brewery has its own bottling line as well.
